Creative Arts Scholarship

The Creative Arts Scholarship is offered to high school seniors who have entered projects in at least 2 divisions of the Creative Arts for at least two years. A $1,000.00 scholarship will be presented to the selected student and mailed directly to their institution in August of their freshman year.

Application details and requirements must be submitted by November 1, 202t o the West Texas Fair & Rodeo Office at the Expo Center of Taylor County, 1700 HWY 36, Abilene, TX 79602. An unbiased committee will review all documentation and notify selected individuals by December 15, 2026.

The West Texas Fair & Rodeo is proud to offer over $9,000.00 annually to high school seniors through the Scholarship Calf Scramble, Livestock Scholarship, and Creative Arts Scholarship!

Items are judged and on display for the duration of the fair in the AEL Round Building and Modern Living Mall. Ribbons are awarded from first place to sixth place, along with Best of Show ribbons in each division. Premium money is also awarded: $8 for 1st place, $7 for 2nd place, and $5 for 3rd place. There is no entry fee!

Friday, August 28, 5:00 pm - Paper entry deadline, must be in office at this time.

Monday, September 14 - Adult Cake entries accepted from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Tuesday, September 15 - Adult Candy entries accepted from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Wednesday, September 16 - Adult Bread entries accepted from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
